For Immediate Release…

CONSTRUCTION BEGINS AT ALL TOGETHER SKATEPARK AFTER SURPASSING 50% FUNDING MARK WITH 6 DAYS LEFT IN INDIEGOGO CAMPAIGN

Seattle, WA: October 10, 2013: All Together Skatepark (ATS) is excited to announce the first phase of construction has begun on the skatepark. Thanks to the support of over 139 individual contributors and seed money from ATS sponsors, Dovetail General Contractors has donated 120 work hours to kick off the project construction.

As ATS continues to close in on its funding target, and once the walls and basic facilities are complete, Grindline Skateparks will begin construction on the features and ramps, while the surfaces will be covered with donated materials from Skatelite.

The Campaign: Secure Your Spot for Opening Week

After starting its Indiegogo campaign to gather community support for the skatepark build-out, ATS has raised over $19,000, with hopes of raising $35,000 in contributions from the community. With each pledge, funders will receive different rewards based on their contribution level.

For example:

  • $10 Pledge: Opening week skate session and ATS sticker
  • $25 Pledge: Opening week skate session and ATS T-shirt
  • $100 Pledge: ATS Skate Deck, 1 Month Membership, and T-shirt
  • $5000 Pledge: Includes your name/company logo in the park, ATS Founders Deck and T-shirt and a private party

Contributors have the opportunity to donate their free session/membership to one of the youth organizations ATS is working with.

Helping At Risk Youth:

Operating the park will cost in excess of $200,000 a year, which is why All Together Skatepark is looking to bring in dollars before opening from those that will be using it and also want to help support the skate community. While the venture is technically ‘for-profit,’ the goal of ATS is to break even and to commit any additional resources to creating opportunities for those who are not able to pay the session fees. ATS is partnering with the Service Board, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Chill, SOS, Skate Like a Girl, Skate for Change and others to fulfill this commitment.

“Building a facility where you can come to, you can skate, you can be safe, be with friends, build relationships and all those things…they are just so powerful.” – Ashley Miller, Director of the Service Board on the importance of skateparks, youth and the community.

Founding Sponsors:

In addition to all the support so far, All Together Skatepark would like to thank its sponsors who have contributed over $100,000 in seed money – evo, Dovetail, WINTR, Curtis Designs, Skatelite, Grindline, Kr3w, Supra, Dickies, Nike, The Hundreds and Volcom.

“In a city known for rain, it’s hard to believe there is no indoor skatepark. Hopefully that will all change soon.”

If you would like to get involved in this project that will be critical in supporting the local skate community through the coming winter contribute HERE and help #BuildATS.
